Age: 0-3 months = UK shoes size Newborn 0-00

Age: 0-6 months = UK shoe size Baby 0-0

Age: 0-12 months = UK 0-2.5, European 15-18

Age: 12-24 months = UK3-5.5, European 19-22

Newborn: up to approx 36 cm 

0 to 6 months: up to approx 43 cm 

6 to 12 months: up to approx 46 cm

12 months to 3 years: up to approx 50 cm

3–5 years: up to approx 53 cm

6–8 years: up to approx 56 cm

To measure a child's head for a hat, measure the head about half an inch (1.25 cm) above the eyebrows where the hat will rest. Be certain that the tape measure is straight, not twisted, and fits comfortably, not too tight. Alternatively, you can use a piece of string to measure the head, and then measure the length of the string with a ruler.

Some hats are one size fits all, especially woollen hats because the fibres can stretch.
